Team Story
Michael-Oakley

Michael Oakley (ATA, CIT) Psycho-Educational Coordinator

Michael, our program manager, was born and raised here in Baton Rouge.  He is a graduate of Broadmoor High School.  He started his journey in recovery in 2012, where he soon discovered his passion for helping others.  On a day to day basis, Michael teaches Education to our clients.  He breaks down the 12 steps of Alcoholic Anonymous and the principles that lie within the steps.  Within his lessons, he teaches about the disease itself, and how to overcome unique obstacles the patients might be going through.  He also manages all of our Recovery Residences, discharges and transitions.  Through his growth within The Grove, he has moved up from Assistant Facilities Manager to his true love of Education Coordinator, and now Program Manager.  He currently lives in Baton Rouge with his loving fiancé, son, and step daughter.

The Grove means help to me. For a long time, myself and other addicts, have felt alone and lost. Here I found the help, acceptance, and career I have long searched for.
